Kalee

Kalee Tuomainen is a committed and empathetic Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and Canadian Certified Counsellor.

She pursued her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Mount Royal University and earned a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Kalee started her career with an internship in private practice and has also dedicated several years to volunteering with Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse (CCASA). These experiences have heightened her awareness of the need for tailored mental health responses to address each individual’s unique needs.

Kalee works with individuals of all ages, as well as couples and families. Her goal is to thoroughly understand her clients and their objectives, ensuring that the therapeutic process remains both valuable and meaningful to them. She assists clients in exploring and gaining insight into their strengths, values, emotions, communication issues, boundary concerns, unproductive patterns, and deeply held beliefs that may impact their relationships with themselves and others.

To support individuals on their therapeutic journey, Kalee is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She also utilizes the Gottman Method Couples Therapy to assist couples at all stages of their relationships, from those who are newly together to those in long-term partnerships. Additionally, she supports families in understanding the interconnectedness of their interactions and the impact these have, while guiding them in making changes to strengthen their connections.

Outside of work, Kalee is passionate about taking spin and yoga classes, as well as journaling. She also loves golfing in the summer and has recently started to take up curling.
