Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessment (ASD)

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that can influence how a person communicates, interacts with others, processes information, and experiences the world around them. People with ASD often experience differences in social communication and may have restricted or repetitive behaviours or interests, along with differences in how they learn, move, or pay attention.

An ASD assessment uses the gold standard in standardized diagnostic testing to determine whether an individual meets the criteria for ASD.

What the assessment includes

This assessment includes one-on-one testing, standardized rating scales, a review of background information, interviews with the adults in the child or youth’s life, and a written report.

During the intake appointment, we’ll determine whether academic or differential diagnostic testing might be recommended. The process takes place over several sessions.

This assessment may be appropriate for children ages 6 and up or adults who are experiencing:

Delayed verbal skills

Difficulty with social skills

Minor changes in environment or schedule

Limited awareness of emotions

Hand flapping & spinning

Intense and unusual preoccupations

Difficulty with eye contact

Minimal facial expressions

Assessment Fee

Effective June 1, 2026, the fee for this assessment is $3,400 for ages 6 and up, or $4,800 if academic testing is added.
