Michelle is a Registered Social Worker with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers. She graduated in 2010 from University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Psychology major, and in 2015 from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Social Work degree. Currently, Michelle is enrolled in the Master of Social Work program at Wilfrid Laurier University.
Michelle started her career working frontline in the nonprofit disability and criminal justice sectors. She also has experience working with adults with co-occurring intellectual disabilities and mental health diagnoses in hospital and residential settings.
For the past five years, Michelle has worked in various positions in the Child Welfare and Disability Support programs with the Department of Social Development. Working in these roles, Michelle has gained experience developing therapeutic relationships with individuals and families that are collaborative and based in respect. Michelle believes in a holistic approach to counselling that focuses on an individual’s experiences and goals while also acknowledging the impacts that environment, access to resources, and social systems may have on overall wellness.
