Neuropsychological Assessment
A neuropsychological assessment is a detailed evaluation of how the brain is functioning across areas such as attention, memory, language, problem-solving, processing speed, and visual-spatial and executive functioning.
By examining these areas together, we can build a clear picture of cognitive strengths and challenges, and how they may be affecting day-to-day life.
What the assessment includes
This type of assessment is often used to understand changes in thinking, memory, or concentration that may be related to a neurological condition, injury, or medical event, and to inform diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation or support planning.
The process typically involves a review of background and medical history, a clinical interview, a series of standardized tests, and a comprehensive written report outlining findings and recommendations. Testing usually takes place over several sessions.
