Sara (she/her) is a Licensed Counselling Therapist Candidate with the College of Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick as well as a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She holds a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology in addition to a Master of Education in Exceptional Learners, and Bachelor of Education from the University of New Brunswick, and a Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University.
Sara has spent the past 15 years supporting children’s mental health both as a teacher and school counsellor in the Anglophone School District South. She has experience counselling children and adults who need support with anxiety, grief, self-esteem, anger, relationships, self-regulation, and parenting. Through her work, she has gained a deep understanding of the importance of building connections and focusing on strengths. She believes that her clients are the experts on their own life, and her role is to work alongside you to challenge narratives, set goals, foster self-love, and find coping strategies.
Sara’s approach to counselling incorporates elements of person-centered, acceptance and commitment therapy, solution focused brief therapy, and play into sessions. She believes that therapy is an important element of self- care which is key to living a happy and balanced life. Sara will provide an environment that is relaxing, open and safe for you to tell your story.
